In 1998, Barry earned his Juris Doctor (the US equivalent of Canada’s LLB designation) from the University of San Diego, School of Law. He enrolled in such courses as Negotiations, International Negotiations, Mediation, Arbitration and other courses focused on the ability to communicate effectively – in negotiating transactions for his clients there is no better training than what Barry experienced at law school. Contracts and Property Law were also required courses – what kind of education is more geared to the purchase and sale of real estate than these?
Analytical and researching skills are also necessary tools for any successful REALTOR®. The ability to gauge and comprehend market trends, compare and contrast various geographical areas within a real estate market and to analyze and price a particular property for its current market value require the ability to properly research and analyze large sums of information. In 1993, Barry achieved his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Western Ontario. Math and Science were central to his studies where research and the ability to analyze vast materials were integral.
